About Susan. Susan is a graduate of the Honour Fine Arts program at the University of Toronto. She has studied textiles at OCAD and in Japan through the Parson’s School of Design and has traveled extensively in Asia, North Africa and Europe. Susan has exhibited her work in individual and group shows in Toronto and Ontario. She recently received two Awards of Honourable Mention at the Hensall by Design Arts Festival. Susan has been recognized at the provincial and national levels for her contributions to art education in Canada. Past President of the Ontario Society for Education through Art (OSEA), she is the recipient of the Ontario Society for Education through Art’s Ray Blackwell Award for Excellence in Art Education, and the Affiliate Award from the Canadian Society for Education through Art. Since retiring from teaching with the Toronto District School Board, Susan founded and continues to manage the Artists’ Garden Cooperative, a summer community arts conferencing project at her garden studio in downtown Toronto.
